Sara Peixoto joined Dower Law Firm in 2022, where she works mainly in the Civil Law department.
She has a law degree from the "Escola de Direito da Universidade do Minho".
She has also complemented her studies by attending several events and courses. Namely, she attended the Distance Learning General Course on Intellectual Property Law and the Distance Learning Course Introduction to the Patent Cooperation Treaty, both offered by the WIPO Academy.
Sara holds a master’s degree in Contract and Company Law from the "Escola de Direito da Universidade do Minho". Her thesis is entitled “The Requirement of Inventive Step in Patentable Inventions and Inventions Generated by Artificial Intelligence”.
Throughout her academic tenure, Sara was the national coordinator of the International ELSA Legal Research Group on Renewable Energy and coordinated the publication of the legal journals INDAGARE and ELSA Portugal Law Review Vol I, II and III.
She is currently pursuing her PhD in Private Legal Sciences, with a specific focus on International Insolvency Law.
She is a Guest Assistant at the "Escola de Direito da Universidade do Minho", working in the Department of Private Legal Sciences. Sara’s activity and research are focused manly in the areas of Private International Law, Judicial Cooperation in Civil and Commercial Matters, Civil Law, Civil Procedure, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Insolvency Law.
Sara’s is also an author of several articles, and a speaker in various events.
She was also an active member of various associations such as ELSA Portugal, ELSA UMINHO and the Academic Debates Association of the “Universidade do Minho”.
