Support measures for municipalities affected by the September 2024 wildfires - Municipal Emergency Fund

What is the purpose of the Municipal Emergency Fund?

To support the restoration of municipal public infrastructures and equipment to support the population.

What are municipal public infrastructures and equipment?

  • Buildings and constructions;
  • Retaining walls; Bridges, aqueducts, and footbridges;
  • Sports, recreational, and leisure facilities;
  • Water supply and sanitation infrastructures;
  • Roads and streets, including road signage, when it is proven that the damage was caused by the 2024 rural fires.

Where should applications be submitted?

To the Regional Coordination and Development Commission of the Center, I.P. or to the Regional Coordination and Development Commission of the North, I.P., depending on the location of the applicant municipality.

Until when can applications be submitted?

  • Until November 15, 2024.

What is the percentage of co-financing?

  • 85% (eighty-five percent) of the respective total eligible costs.

What does the co-financing include?

  • Demolition works;
  • Containment;
  • Removal of debris;
  • Any other works necessary to ensure the safety of people and property.

Note: If the works are carried out directly by the local authority, expenses related to municipal machinery and expenses with personnel on the municipality's payroll are not eligible.
